Pamoja Road Safety Initiative was founded in 2009, out of  realization that the road carnage situation was unsustainable because road deaths were already a huge social economic burden to families and the country

The organization has grown to become one of the most recognizable champions of sustainable mobility and road safety in Kenya and the world of sustainable transport and cities.  The organization is a respected member of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and road victims.

Our meteoric growth has been driven by passionate volunteers bringing their professions and skills to fight the road carnage menace.

Beliefs and Values

  • We believe that road safety and promotion of sustainable transport is everyone’s responsibility.   Everyone can do so much to contribute.  No one should wait until they are direct or indirect victim.
  • We must raise awareness, mobilize communities and advocate for change including legislation to improve sustainable transport, road safety and better treatment for the victims.
  • We must too advocate for harsher punishment for people who cause death by dangerous use of the roads.
  • It is unacceptable for Kenyans to continue to die and get injured on the our roads. One death or injury is one too many.
  • Halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents.

Our Mission

To make Kenya roads safer and sustainable by advocating for more responsible road sharing, better road standards, roadsides and vehicles.
